Osteomyelitis of the ischiopubic synchondrosis

Presentation

Right groin pain with fever and leukocytosis.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

Lyic and sclerotic changes of the right ischiopubic synchondrosis extending to the pubic region. Surrounding fluid collection with peripheral enhancement extending to the adjacent muscles (obturator internus/externus, adductor brevis/minimus) as well as to the bulb of the penis with gas foci in the scrotum. There is also thickening with the enhancement of the levator ani.

MRI features of osteomyelitis of the ischiopubic synchondrosis with abscess formation extending to the adjacent muscles and bulb of the penis.
